Influence of Fin Spacing on Heat Dissipation
The cooling system is an important part of the car engine, of which the radiator is the core component. The failure caused by the insufficient heat dissipation capacity of the engine cooling system seriously affects the quality of the product.
1. The influence of the distance between the outer fins of the automobile radiator on the heat dissipation capacity
For example, the spacing adjustment range of the outer fins of the automobile radiator is 2-3mm, and the change step is 0.2mm. Keep other parameters unchanged, adjust the outer fin spacing, and bring it into the simulation model to calculate the radiator performance. The radiator outlet water temperature increases with the increase of the outer fin spacing. The analysis shows that under the condition that the total width of the radiator remains unchanged, the increase of the outer fin spacing will lead to a decrease in the number of fins, that is, the total heat exchange area on the air side is reduced, and the heat exchange capacity of the radiator is weakened. Water temperature increases.
2. The influence of the fin spacing in the automobile radiator on the heat dissipation capacity
For example, the spacing adjustment range of the outer fins of the radiator is 5-10 mm, and the change step is 1 mm. Keep other parameters unchanged, and bring it into the simulation model to calculate the radiator performance. The water temperature at the radiator outlet decreases with the increase of the inner fin spacing. The analysis shows that the increase in the spacing of the inner fins of the truck radiator will inevitably reduce the number of inner fins, thereby reducing the total heat exchange area of the radiator; on the other hand, the resistance of the radiator is restricted by the density of the inner fins, and the spacing of the inner fins increases. It is beneficial to increase the coolant flow and increase the heat exchange of the radiator, and the overall effect is that the heat dissipation capacity of the radiator is enhanced.
3. The influence of the height of the inner and outer fins of the automobile radiator on the heat dissipation capacity
Since the size of the radiator core is limited by the layout of the entire vehicle, the increase in the height of the outer fins should be consistent with the decrease in the height of the inner fins. For example, the change range of the inner fin height is set to 2-4 mm; the change step length is 0.5 mm; the corresponding outer fin height change range is 9.4 to 11.4 mm. When the height of the inner and outer fins changes, the flow rate of the water pump and the air volume of the fan also change, which in turn affects the heat exchange of the radiator. The outlet water temperature of the radiator in truck decreases rapidly with the increase of the inner fin height. According to the analysis, the height of the inner fins of the radiator determines the hydraulic diameter of the water side channel. The increase of the inner fin height increases the heat exchange area on the water side. Due to the decrease of the outer fin height, the resistance on the air side increases. As a result, the air flow through the radiator decreases. Therefore, when the height of the inner fins increases to a certain extent, the heat exchange capacity of the radiator does not increase any more. In general, the height of the inner fins should not be too small.
